GoldCare Selected to Manage Very Special Kids' Unique Community Support Services

Campana Systems Pty Ltd., market leaders in healthcare management software, is pleased to announce that Very Special Kids (of Malvern, VIC) has selected Campana's GoldCare solution to manage their community support services for families of children with life-threatening illnesses.
GoldCare consists of versatile healthcare management applications that are integrated through an interactive interface to provide a customisable view of client information, schedules, tasks and more. Comprehensive tools allow you to deliver services at the point-of-care; consolidate information management; and access client information across multiple care sites and at the point-of-care.
Very Special Kids supports families of children with life-threatening illnesses providing a range of unique programs including counselling, sibling support, bereavement support and trained volunteers. In addition, Very Special Kids established Very Special Kids House in 1996, Victoria's only children's hospice, which provides planned respite, emergency respite and end-of-life care. The organisation currently supports more than 850 families throughout Victoria; however that number has been increasing by 10 15% each year.
This growth in families and the ongoing development of services necessitated a solution that could manage the administrative and clinical aspects of operating a number of programs both at the main office and in local community care sites: health records, assessments and reviews, reporting and more. It's for this reason, combined with the ability to facilitate collaborative information sharing and informed decision-making, that Very Special Kids selected GoldCare.
Andrea Murphy, Executive Manager Family Services for Very Special Kids, explains: "Very Special Kids has recently undertaken a comprehensive external review of its model of care which involved families, staff and key external stakeholders. One of the eight key recommendations arising from the Review was the need for a new Client Management Information System, to replace the existing system which is limited in its functionality and reporting capacity."

It will also increase the capacity to produce reports and enhance Very Special Kids' ability to contribute to the development of national standards and quality measures in paediatric palliative care," Murphy adds.
