Campana and Medical Pharmacies Partner to Deliver Joint eMAR Interface for Long-Term Care Facilities in Ontario
Waterloo, Ontario – August 27, 2009 – Campana Systems Inc., market leaders in healthcare management software, is pleased to announce their partnership with Medical Pharmacies Group Inc. to develop an interface between Medical Pharmacies' medication dispensary software and the electronic medication administration record (eMAR) application of Campana's GoldCare software. This interface will help long-term care facilities using both systems to streamline medication administration and documentation for thousands of long-term care residents across Ontario.
GoldCare healthcare management software consists of diverse clinical and operational applications to manage the full continuum of residential and long-term care. Its capacity to handle virtually any data exchange requirement allows GoldCare to seamlessly integrate in real-time with third-party systems such as Medical Pharmacies' medication dispensary software. As this joint eMAR interface provides a direct communication link between the long-term care facility and Medical Pharmacy, clients benefit from enhanced centralized data access and the ability to consolidate information sharing.
The joint interface will allow long-term care sites to auto-populate GoldCare's eMAR application with medication data pulled from Medical Pharmacies' medication dispensary software. An electronic record of the resident's medications and administration dates/times is automatically created, eliminating the need for nursing staff to document that information on paper.
