GoldCare Selected to Implement interRAI CHA in Mississauga Halton LHIN and South East LHIN for Community Support Service Agencies
Waterloo, Ontario – April 29, 2009
Campana Systems Inc. is pleased to announce that the South East Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) and Mississauga Halton (MH) LHIN, through VON Canada, have selected Campana’s GoldCare software and interRAI Community Health Assessment (CHA) tool for community support services (CSS) to support Aging At Home initiatives in Southeastern Ontario and Mississauga Halton.
Ontario’s Aging at Home Strategy is designed to expand community living options for seniors and to provide a wider range of home care and community support services, enabling seniors to continue leading healthy and independent lives in their own homes. Planners and service providers in the South East and MH LHINs identified the need for a common, standardized assessment tool that would help identify individuals at risk of progressive frailty and functional decline in activities of daily living. The interRAI CHA is a key component of the SMILE (Seniors Managing Independent Living Easily) Program, a South East LHIN-wide supported living program, as well as the supported daily living services in the MH LHIN. VON Canada, in their role as Regional Manager of the SMILE Program, undertook a process to select a software solution to support the interRAI CHA assessment tool.
GoldCare’s interRAI CHA solution is part of an enterprise offering which includes clinical management, client management, scheduling, financials, reporting and mobile software solutions. GoldCare’s interRAI CHA solution will allow CSS providers to complete an assessment at the client’s home in either wireless or disconnected mode utilizing GoldCare’s award-winning Care Anywhere solution.
"Following evaluation of several solutions and extensive due diligence, GoldCare was the natural choice since the software solution, implementation services and current installation of the interRAI CHA in Ontario best met our requirements. We view GoldCare as a strategic partner that will help us to improve client care and meet our business objectives now and in the future," says Alan Cavell, VON Project Sponsor.
There will be an estimated 40 agencies within the LHINs that will streamline their assessment process using the interRAI CHA assessment software. Further, the information will assist the CSS sector with decisions related to program development and resource allocation. The interRAI CHA assessment instrument will form the basis for data entry of all assessments within the CSS sector for the next several years.
"We are honoured that both the South East LHIN and Mississauga Halton LHIN have chosen GoldCare to help support CSS decision-making and to deliver better and more consistent care," says Grant Roberts, President of Campana Systems.
