AAA National Migration to American Express Traveller's Cheques, Meta Bank Gift/Travel Cards, and Wells Fargo Tip-packs

AAA National is changing its traveller's cheque vendor from Travelex (VISA) to American Express. Because Travelex was providing more then travellers cheque services to clubs, AAA National plans to use Meta Bank and Wells Fargo to provide some of the other services that Travelex offered.

AAA National hosted kick-off conference calls to introduce Campana to the three vendor companies. AAA National also hosted separate conference calls to introduce the clubs to the same vendors.

Campana has been in contact with each vendor to assess the technical aspects of the switchover and has also been in contact with AAA Central Penn's Karen Headdings, to review software required to meet the need of the new products offerings.

The following lists some of the implementation dates for each vendor with details of the changes that Campana expects will have to be made:

American Express - Implementation of credit card processing by Fall 2007

Expected changes:

  • Minor changes to the transmission file
  • Update to the trailer records
  • Addition of demographic records for refund transactions
  • Implement transmission of settlement file via FTPS

Meta Bank - Implementation of an API for Gift Card activation and registration in 2007

Expected changes:

  • The activation and registration of Travel Cards using an API is expected to be available sometime in 2008
  • A User Group task will be submitted to enhance AXIS Sundry to perform API activation and registration

Wells Fargo - Implementation is still being discussed.

Expected changes:

  • Campana does not expect any AXIS enhancements
